VW Mk.IV Polo 1.9 TDI PD GT 130 PS

Hi All,

Having just lashed out and bought one of these little wizzers (a 2005 and I think a much prettier car than the latest slightly lesser powered version). I am keen to find out if anyone knows just how many of this particular spec. have been sold in the UK?? They are certainly thin on the ground here in Devon not having seen even one other since getting the car 3 months ago.

What a fabulous little car it is, (now that there's 7500k on the clock)..a real wolf in sheeps clothing :D . The acceleration from the mid ranges is quite startling..indeed almost brutal! and that with its pin sharp road holding, (even in the wet), I think it has all the makings of a real classic possibly verging on the Mk.1 Golf GTI.

I was also amused to find that my insurance company only rate it as a "warm hatch"..shhh, excellent news!..all I can say it makes my old Golf Mk.2 GTI 8v almost a 'sad hatch' by comparison.

My only slight critisism is that the headlight main beam could do with an upgrade and the only available modification I'm told is to have those horrid blue/white bulbs at "about a £100 each" says my main dealer...yeah right!

You can sample my 100w main beam bulbs too - £13 odd each. ;)

I like the term "warm hatch" - My Fabia's a group 6 insurance car, and yet pushes 220bhp. Gotta love it.
