Youngest Passat Owner??

Hi All!

As you've probably guessed, I'm new! I've had my 1997 Passat TDi Sport for around 5 months now, love it to bits, wanted a VW diesel for years! I'm guessing I'm probably one of the youngest Passat drivers around, I've just turned 20, although I've been driving for nearly 3 years, I've had two Astra Mk3 estate (diesels) and I'm a member of the IAM after passing my advanced driving test.
Funny thing happened last night. I jumped in the car to go to work, turned the key, she fired up...and then died. Tried it again and again and she refused to start. Called the AA, waited around an hour (meanwhile I was taken to work) then the chap turned up, he was given the keys by my housemate...and would you believe it...she fired up with no trouble! I spoke to the chap on the phone (with the car purring away in the background) and he said she was running beautifully!! I did feel stupid! He said the alternater was fine, the battery is 6 weeks old, so I knew that should be okay.
Anyway, I have loads of questions to ask, I hope I will be able to help people out at the same time too and if anyone has any idea what went on last night with my car, let me know!!
