Hi all!
I am after some advice about a 2001 golf tdi central locking issue. The problem is that the boot will not open off the key fob. The driver door and passenger door work fine off the key but there is no entry to the boot. What i find very strange is that if i press the release button on the drivers door (to unlock and lock all doors) the boot will open off that button! Does anybody have any advice, it would be much appreeciated as its driving me mad!!

I assume you are pressing the button on the key fob twice in quick succession ?
This is a long shot...I had a Mkiv a while ago and seem to remember something about
the boot lock needs to be in the right position to work with the remote.Or I could be thinking about another car !
The lock has 2 positions, horizontal or vertical....
Have a look in the manual if you have one.
I had the same problem, KITES reply is correct the lock postion has to be a certain way for it to work i just played about with the lock and key and it worked ever since.
