haldex filter

will my 2001 pd 130 bhp passat have this haldex filter fitted. ????

It does not have one, the Haldex filter is for cars with the VW 4-Motion system which uses an electronically controlled rear coupling (made by the Sweedish company Haldex) to engage the 4wd, your car has the Audi quattro system, proper 4wd!

alas i aint got 4 motion , 2wd afraid .

Ahh, so not a Passat 4M then. I did wonder, they are rare but that is the engine they came with for the UK.

would 16 or 17 inch tyres give better control , the 15" stock are rubbish at control anything over a tad more power into corners or roundabouts. i have only cheapish tyres fitted at the moment due to the miles i do , but was pondering toyos on 17 " rims.

8x18's with 225/40 Uniroyal RS1's, makes a Passat look amazing, especially when lowered a little with a properly designed suspension kit.
