Brake Warning Light On--HELP!
I have a 2003 A4 Avant Quattro. The brake warning light came on while driving the other day and has stayed on. It came on while I was making a turn, not while braking. The user manual says that if this happens your fluid is low.
I checked the fluid, I really couldn't tell if it had fluid in it or not, so I went to the Dealer and got some brake fluid. The Service and Parts departments were closed but a kind salesman took pity on me and told me that a parts guy was in the parts department and that he'd try to retrieve the appropriate fluid for me. I topped off the brake fluid, restarted the car--the light has not gone out. I drove around, started and restarted a number of times and the light still has not gone off. I fell no problem with the brakes. It's near the time to replace the front brakes, but according to my mechanic, I still have some mileage to go on them.
Is it safe to drive this car? Today is Saturday and I need to drive the car tomorrow. It is the only car I have. Any advice?
A newbie.
Re: Brake Warning Light On
it could be the brake pads you dont need to brake to wear the pads and as thay have a sensor in this could be what it is the only way to cheak is wipe the wheels off or plug it in to a diagnostic
