VW Golf plus 06 gear lever vibration

Just taken delivery of Golf plus 1.6 - 9 months old, and there is an annoying vibration on the gear lever in 5th gear. The lever is fine in all other gears but in 5th above 50mph it feels slack and wobbles.
I have taken it back to main dealer who have checked the linkages etc and they have found nothing wrong. They said that it is 'just one of those things'.
Has anyone had a similar problem with a Golf, is it normal?

May be similar to an issue i had on my 2000 Bora.

There was a similar vibration on the gear shifter.

Turned out to be a bush on the lever itself, so said the VW dealer.

Changed under warranty and disappeared.
