Xcarlink

Hi all
Very new to this threading lark But I will have a go
Right have just purchased an Xcarlink thingy, basically it plays mp3 files through your existing tape player cd via a amplified unit you lot probably know more than me on this subject.
My problem is that I need to thread a lead from the back of my Xcarlink to the tape unit that is the easy part. But I want to put the Xcarlink unit into the glove compartment how do you lower the glove compartment There are 3 screws at the top and at the bottom but I cant seem to be able to move it any help
