Audi A4 2.4 engine hunting problem
Hello everyone, i am new to this forum having just purchased a 1998 A4 2.4 V6, she has 130k on the clock.
There is a problem with the tick over, when at idle the engine is hunting from around 600 to 850 rpm, just wanting to know if anyone has had similar faults or maybe someone can point me in the right direction, the inspection comes up on the clock when first starting but goes off after 30 seconds or so, how do you reset the inspection ?
Would appreciate any input.
Thanks Bigengines

its probably the air mass meter...£50, make sure you get a genuine Bosch, 2 mins to fit..
Re: Audi A4 2.4 engine hunting problem
Usually this is due to a dirty throttle body that needs cleaning and re-adapting. A fault code read should show idle control errors. If you replace the Air Mass Meter, only buy one from an Audi dealer, there are a lot or counterfeit Bosch AMM’s around. I have PM’d you my email so I can send you the reset procedure for the inspection warning.
