Couple of Problems in Skoda Superb (cross post to get more coverage from B5 owners)
Hi,
I drive a Skoda Superb, I've posted a couple of questions in the Skoda Superb forum thread but thought I would also post on the B5 forum to see if I get any answers from this section as they are the same cars under the skin.
Firstly, a couple of times the car has misted up inside with the climatronic on and set to auto, putting it on recirc air has done very little to get rid of the misting up and I've had to open the window. Any ideas, does it need an aircon recharge?
Secondly, I've noticed a couple of times that my temp gauge has been at 90 (in a 1.9tdi 130bhp) and then dropped to approx 50 - 60 then risen back up to 90. Spoke to dealer and they say that it could be caused by the fact that when the engine is warming up the supply to the radiator is switched off to enable a quicker warm up, when it is at the correct temperature the supply to the radiator cuts in and the sudden influx of cold water from the radiator could have caused the brief drop then rise in temperature. Has anybody could across this before, last time it happened I had been driving for 10 minutes at 70mph and the temp gauge had been at 90 for a few minutes. Are the dealers trying to fob me off?
Thanks

Climatronic wise i'm not too sure, have you checked the floor for the dreaded wet patch? Not 100% if the Superb suffers this like the Passat. Setting to re-circ will make it worse, not better in my experience due to the air inside being more humid as you breathe out and there is no outside air coming in to replace it.
Re: the temperature guage, i'ts more likely to be the sender unit playing about than the water moving about the system, unless it only happens when warming from cold.
Both my A4's did it and the Passat has done it about 3 times in the 2 weeks odd i've owned it.
The sender was only about £24 from Audi, so probably less from Skoda.
