Sunroof-Installing generic remote central locking-New engine

I bought my 98 a4 about 3 weeks ago and only drove it for a couple of hours before I killed the engine by putting in too much oil. It is as we speak having a new engine fitted by a pro mech. What questions should I ask him when I go to pick the car up early next week.

Also I know the sunroof does not open fully so tips on fixing this would be good. As well as this I am thinking of installing one the generic remote central locking kits for sale on ebay, if anyone has experience of these please let me know which is the best one to get and if it is something relatively easy that i could do myself as obviously my budget for fixing this car up will be fairly drained by the new engine fit.
