passat tdi sport. squeeling noise

hi all , i have just used my 2001 passat sport tdi and it was running fine until i went to pass the car in front,i put my foot down and it made a squeeling noise from the drivers side engine compartment.it lacked its usual instant power and had seemed to not be boosting like it should,i ve looked under the bonnet when i got home and could see nothing adrift of broken.my wife revved the engine and the noise sounds like an elephant blowing its trunk. any ideas would be well appreciated as to what it is.:1zhelp:

Check all the turbo pipes (Big Black) for splits and all the clips and seals for air leaks Intercooler is front N/S under headlight.

hi , i ve checked all the turbo pipes and they seem all good,the noise is definately coming from the drivers side of the engine,cant see anything leaking and the engine sounds fine apart from the screeching noise when revved hard,it sounds like a squealing fan belt but is certainly isnt.any ideas would be most helpful.

job done, pipe from turbo to intercooler was split,found it as soon as i removed the undertray,genuine pipe £63.90inc vat.not bad i suppose for a bit of rubber!.
