I cleaned my intake manifold - does it look right?

I took off my EGR valve and intake manifold and cleaned all of the gunk out (it was bad in the EGR) after my turbo started to cut out if I put the engine under load (up a hill for example) and went past 3000 RPM.
I put it all back together and just wondered if I've got the manifold gasket back on correctly? If I haven't what would I notice when driving?

Also I read that you should put a screw in the pipe coming off the top of the EGR which I have (see photo) have I got this right?

Sorry not to be replying anything useful here, but I think I might have the same problem! Turbo just seems to have gone randomly dormant and the car is thus underpowered. I don't notice it so much round town, but put me on a hill on the dual carriageway and there's just an almighty flatspot.

I thought I had an issue with my Mass Airflow Meter (or somesuch) as that's what I was reading around the place, but a clean didn't really fix my issue! Engine cleaner/ treatment perks things up a bit, but only short term.

So I wonder if I have the same dirt issue as you in the manifold area somewhere. Hopefully your fix works.

Sorry but it hasn't. I have cleaned everything but still have the same problem when I hit a hill and put the engine under some load (usually at 3000 rpm).

I think I will replace the MAF when I get the time/money. I've read that it is not worth buying a cheap replacement.

I can't seem to find if there is a test to see if it is actually the MAF before buying one. Don't suppose anyone here has one?

Yes You Have Done The Egr Job Correctly. I Have The Same Problem And I Have Changed Maf,n75 And All Small Rubber Piping. It Seems To Be Getting A Bit Better Since I Have Been Putting A Full Bottle Of Wynns Diesel Treatment In Every Time I Fill Up And Giving It Some Thrash.i Have Been Told Allthough It May Seem An Electrical Fault It Could Be Sticking Veins In The Turbo Which Causes It To Go In To Limp0 Mode Which May Be Possible So I Am Going To Try Taking Exhaust Pipe Off Of Turbo And Soaking Inside Of Turbo With Wd40 And Carb Cleaner To See If This Loosens Things Up. I Started Having Problems After Putting Some Dodgy Diesel In For The First Time So I Wonder If This Could Have Sooted Up The Turbo.also I Find If When On Motorway Or Going Up Hills If I Pump The Accelerator On And Off On And Off It Dosnt Seem To Happen Even Up To Speeds Over 100 Mph

I've just completed a 700 mile round trip over the weekend and I didn't go into limp mode once. I stuck to under 3000 rpm all the way and returned 55mpg one way and 48 the other, not bad for a car with 218000 miles, better returns than I've ever had. I got home the wuickest I have ever done, 305 miles in 4 hours with one wee stop so keeping to under 3000rpm didn't slow me down. I'm wondering if I should just live with it?
