Washer fluid warning light

hi

I wonder if someone can help me. I want to know if my car has a washer fluid warning light on the dash if it goes down.
It is a new car a Golf match 1.6fsi 2007. I have not run out yet since I had it but am worried if I run out on the motorway or something. I cannot see the whole bottle in the engine compartment. Would it be handy to carry some in the car ?.

It should do, my GT Sport does and it's highly irritating, it keeps changing on the display between time & washer symbol.

It would be great if you could just acknowledge it and stop the computer changing all the time... :mad:

if you check your option codes you should find out. There are various checkers linked to on here or you can ask your dealer to call up your car details, i did and they also printed it for me to.

I will ask the dealer when I pop in next. Somebody told me this function comes with the winter pack only. With so many models and options it does get confusing.
I guess I will let it run out and see what happens , its a shame you cannot see the whole bottle.

Mine has no winter pack, and I don't get a warning light - it just runs out :(

Yep i'm in that camp too ran out yesterday on the way home expecting a warning light but just ran out

i've got the winter pack, and read the extras leafet i got, and it does say in there the extras with the winter pack is the washer fluid light symbol,
so i take it you have to opt for winter pack to have this function,

If thats the case its another money making effort measure by VW. Something so important as running out of washer fluid on a motorway does not seem so important to vw. I have experienced it myself and you do start panicking !!.

I am sure it does not cost that much for one warning light to come on, or at least design the engine so one can see the whole bottle.

I bet the golfs competitors ie , focus astra aurius peugeot, has the light as standard. Does anybody know????.

seems daft, my bora sport has it, and that's 7yrs old!!!
suppose they have to include it in the "winter pack" to make that extra option seem to be more value?
