Recently the car completely shuts down and loses all electronics when I accelerate from being stopped. After a few seconds I can restart and everything appears fine. This has happed twice the in the last two days.

Just a thought, check the wires on the altenator to see if they are connected well or are fraid in any way. They will cause you problems if they are not connected properly.:D
