headlight renage motors (L + R) not working
Can you tell me if the headlight motors (both left and right) can be activated by software.
It's because I found out that my headlight range regulator does not work. Also tested all the elements on the circuit and they are OK.:zx11:
Recently I discovered that my fault with heated windscreen was related to function desabled on the software.
Can you help me on this one?
Thanks:Blush:
Re: headlight renage motors (L + R) not working
Did you get an answer to this problem? The headlights on my mk4 Golf no longer adjust & I've been told that fuse is the same one for the indicators which do work, so unless both motors gave up at the same time, I'm assuming they must be switched off somehow.
Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Alan.
Re: headlight range motors (L + R) not working
Hi all.
I have the same problem. My headlight range elevator don't work, i use the switch to change the elevation but the lights remain in the same position. The fuse its ok. I supose it could be that both engines were malfunction, but it seems to much a coincidence. One other thing, the light bulb warning appears everytime i turn the car on, but all the bulbs are ok. I've read in some forum that it could also be because of the headlight range elevators. Is it true?
It is possible that the range elevators were "switch off" in the computer? And if so, how to check and turn them on?
Thanks in advance.
Re: headlight renage motors (L + R) not working
Hi everibody
Yesterday I've run some investigation on this problem.
I manage to find two problem:
On right headlight motor (which by the way is inside the headlight) the variable resistance is damaged. I'm trying to find an apropriate one for replacement. Until now i've found on on RS catalog (RS1141) which is 0,50€ each. mutch sheaper than all the motor. If it fits I will tell you as asson as I've the resistance.
On the left headlight motor, the amp-op and the motor are burn. So, I'm searching for both motor, resistance and amp-op. I think in this case buying the motor will be sheaper.
Anyway, if you want to check if comand signal is reaching the motor, just take the headling plug of and measure the voltage beetween two first pins on the 5 row pins. When adjusting the headlight level, you should read there a potencial ranging from arround 6V to 10 V.
I hope to give any more details soon.
