Advice on Passat TDI Sport 2001 AVF
The cars done 113K and I am due a cambelt change. I was going to have the other belts & water pump changed at the same time, but read on this forum the Alternator pulley can be an issue. Although there is no strange noises or vibration on the alternator belt, is it recomended to have this changed at the sametime. Also I had the classic slow leak from the radiator, but after putting some rad sealent, it has been OK for nearly 1.5 years....should I get this changed at the sametime. Stafford Audi have a good deal on cambelt changes £245 all in, was thinking of taking it there, anyone have experience of them? Any advice gratefully recieved.

To be honest, on 113k, you may as well change the alternator pulley too. They are relitively cheap. Theres no real way to test if its worn - just if its given up completely. If it does give up, it will then cause the alternator tensioner to wear quickly.

Thanks for your suggestion. Whats your thinking about my cured weeping radiator. It's just all these little bits are adding up to big bill & don't really want to spend if I don't have to:Blush:
