Hi, i have a 2002 polo 1.2 and just lately a rather annoying knocking noise seems to be coming from around the front wheels. If i bounce the car up and down at the front all seems ok, its more when i am going over rough road or small holes. the car has only done 27000 miles. thanks.
Usually it is the anti roll bar, the inner mounting points corrode and fall to bits and it makes a terrible noise. Get the car in the air and look at the inner mountings that are tucked up behind the subframe, if there are signs of corrosion around them, it needs a new bar.
