Advice on A3 purchase!

Hello

I have an A4 which has been very problematic (only had for 5 months) - and I think it has to go! Unfortunately it has put me off the A4 completely!

I will have to have a diesel (do 20k a year), and it will be manual (love the multitronic - hate the problems).

I am interested on ANY comments regarding the A3 - particulary in relation to the leg room in the back (have a long-legged 15 year old!).

I, hopefully, will have an A3 whilst my car is in for work next week.
