2017 Polo GTi 1.8 P060600 Error
I have just imported a 2017 Polo GTi 1.8 from Japan. I got it today and the engine light is on. I scanned it and it has P060600 error code which from Googling is a bit scary and potentially a new ECU required.
I found a brief mention online that battery voltage might trigger this error? The car spent 2 months in a container with the battery disconnected, could a low battery or disconnecting the battery cause this fault. The car is with a mechanic having a service and MOT, is it worth telling him to service it, clear the code and taking it for a good drive and see what happens?
Any tips to fault find other than to pull out the ECU and send it off to a ECU repair place?
Any help would be great
Thanks
Adam
Re: 2017 Polo GTi 1.8 P060600 Error
Don't send it to anyone except ACTronics and even they may not be able to help, what is the VIN? This code is usually when someone has been trying to remap it for more power..

VIN is WVWZZZ6RZHY244689
If it is a bad map flash, can it not be reflashed with the stock map?
Re: 2017 Polo GTi 1.8 P060600 Error
Spoken to ACTronics and they can't do anything with the Simos 18.1 ECU.
Any recommendations for anyone else?
Re: 2017 Polo GTi 1.8 P060600 Error
If ACT can’t do it, no one can, the rest are liars and charlatans, particularly the one that says they Test ECU’s, notorious in the Notts Derby motor trade.
What I would try first is to find a VAG specialist with ODIS and full VW Group Retail Portal access and then check address 03 under Software Version Management to see if there is a VW software solution. We charge £85 for this which could be money well spent when the ECU repair kit (it is telling that there is one) 6C0 907 379 R REP is £1149.60 retail inc. VAT.
