Which Discs & Pads

A rear brake caliper has seized on my 2012 Golf Estate 2.0tdi Sportline and so I need to source replacement calipers, discs & pads? Can any one tell me from my vin number which are the corect part numbers I need? Vin is WVWZZZ1KZCM645904

Also when I search for brake discs using my reg number most sites suggest 282mm discs, but 256mm are fitted to the car. Has a garage fitted the incorrect size in the past or is 256mm actually the correct size?

Any suggestions \ links for reasonable quality discs & pads would be welcome.

You have to look at the Mexican built Golf 6 estate type AJ differently to the Golf 6 type 5K, they are quite different cars in many respects but the rear callipers are still VW numbers 5K0 615 423 and 424 and with the discs being 1K0 615 601 AA and these are 272x10 so yes, wrong discs fitted.

Crasher thanks for the detailed reply. There doesn't seem to be much cleareance in the exisiting calipers to fit 272mm discs, the calipers are Bosch so don't know if these are original or were changed at the same time of the discs.

Original plan was to have a go at doing this myself, however it looks like you can't remove the discs without removing the caliper carriers and apparently the MK5 type rear carriers are a right bar steward to remove with the car on axle stands as it's easy to strip the splines on the bolt heads. I may be better to give it to a local garage and let them sort the caliper & disc size anomily.

The M10 XZN headed carrier bolts are evil, the top one is the worst. If the internal triple hex strips out you are in a world of pain and they must be replaced if removed.
