I could post on my original thread so just to follow up on why the DPF would'nt regen after a clutch change which may be helpful to others:
After many hours of work - removing and cleaning EGRV, replacing glow plus and checking sensors it turns out No 4 EGT sensor had been replaced by an incorrect sensor which was working in reverse to how it should (telling the ECU it was getting colder despite getting hotter). This meant despite the car trying to regen the ecu didn't register the DPF temperature as being sufficient to regen the DPF. Replaced the No 4 EGT sensor with the correct one and the car regenerated the DPF as normal once up to temperature.
I know the incorrect sensor was fitted in the last 240 miles as that was the distance since the previous regen and the only people who have touched the car was the 'clutch specialist'. So what I think happened is they damaged the no 4 EGT sensor when moving the gearbox to change the clutch. They then replaced it with what they thought was the correct sensor (but wrong one for my car).
I can't prove it was the clutch specialist but its the only rational explanation? I have called them twice but they are very vague and said they need to speak with the manager when he returns. I intend to follow up again today with them as its now confirmed it had the wrong sensor fitted. I'm more annoyed they didn't tell me what happened when I first asked as it could have saved me many hours of work and head scratching. I'll push them to pay £230 for a genuine Audi sensor - I think that seems fair?
