Choosing Car Tyres

Can anyone advise how to choose a version of a tyre that has decent anti-curbing trim/edge on the tyre??

I have two different versions of a Michelin Pilot Sport 4, one has much better anti curving edge on it.

Where can I see the full catalog of model numbers and the differences between them?? It's maddening, all the websites both manufacturers and retailers like Black Circles etc. are terrible at telling you the differences on the same tyre and giving you the options needed.

Which size, rating etc?
