No electrics near side windows/door/mirror.....

Hi. I've been trying to solve this issue, but haven't got very far so would appreciate some more help if possible. 2009 A3 cabrolet. Nothing electrical is working on the near side door (mirror, lights, central locking, window), nor the near side rear window. (The alarm will set even though the passenger door is unlocked, but doesn't trigger if the door is opened). Initially I thought it might be the drivers door wiring harness as I had repaired wires here in the past. So this time I replaced the whole plug and checked all wires for continuity between pug and other end of the harness before reconnecting. However, this made no difference. I also checked the fuses again as suggested by Crasher in a previous post. I have now checked the continuity of the wires in the passenger door harness and all were good. There was a very small amount of corrosion on a few pins into the control module which I carefully cleaned all up but no difference. There was a live 12V supply to this module. I then checked the near side rear window module. All clean and dry, and a live 12V supply. I've even rechecked all the wires in the drivers door harness and the plug and socket again. I'll copy a shortened vcds scan below. Has anyone got any ideas what to do next? Do I start replacing modules? I know all the modules are linked, and that the drivers can affect all the others - or could it be the passenger one affecting the rear as well? It seems unlikely that both would fail together. Or is there something else I should be looking at checking? Thanks.

I've tried that, but no difference I'm afraid.

I've been checking the wiring again in the passenger door. All seems good. However, when I plugged in the door card connector when pushing it in the window motor briefy ran, I tried a couple more times and it did the same. I think I also saw one of the door lights flicker. Since fiddling with it more I can't get it to repeat this. Does this suggest these connections are not good, or even the module itself has some poor joints as I was pushing into the black box of the module a bit as well? What do you suggest I try next - replacing the module or the connector? And finally (for now) is there a way tomanually wind the window back up as it is now down a bit!

A friend of mine who is also a VAG specialist had this on an A3 cab and it was the door controller, probaly a dry joint inside but a new unit made more sense in time versus money. yours is 8P7 959 802 D and £368.40. This part is highly specific to the 2009/10 model year type 8P7 and replaces only 8P7 959 802 B, C and E. As you have no comms you will need to read the number off the label.

Great information again Crasher. Mine is actually a B. So does that mean I can replace with either another B, or a D but nothing else?
I have just swapped in the module from my mk5 golf 5 door just to see if anything showed any life to further suggest the module. With the golf one the window works (the wrong way around) from the drivers switch which I think further suggests the module.

The new module has done the job, thanks. (Well almost. The folding mirror isn't working, nor are the passenger door lights but for now that doesn't matter. The windows and locks are working (and roof but not in this weather!))

Hi sorry to bump this thread, but I'm having the same issue (no power to passenger side/roof/ central locking) and the door controller module reference is 8P7959802B. Are there any other year modules interchangeable or must I use this specific module. Thanks.

All the modules are highly specific, some down the the individual VIN.
