Warning light help due to LCD screen issues needed
The recent purchase is pretty much sorted now, I know the instrument cluster will need to be repaired in due course due to the LCD being very poor. Whilst on a drive today there was a bleep and an orange warning light on the top part of the LCD screen (2004 roadster). The LCD is so poor I cant work out what the picture is, I also do not have a handbook to see what choices I have !!;)
Can anybody give me some clues as to possible orange symbols on the top screen.....I do not think it is a round shape hahaha.
The furl gauge is half full....but that may be incorrect? I am still on petrol the car came with so could it be a fuel warning in the LCD.
Thanks.

When those panels fail, the fuel gauge sticks at 1/2

cool, reckon thats it. Filled her up and it goes off the scale....reads half full empty haha! The lcd is patchy.....so when I can do without car a bit will pull the cluster and send it off. not sure I want to solder that and best have it all checked anyway. Many thanks as ever Crasher.

On Thursday we had a Q5 in with the same problem, went to order a new panel but they are on back order due to demand.
Re: Warning light help due to LCD screen issues needed
it seems to be a recurring theme of poorly made clusters in VW AUDI group for many years. My last TT had the same issue with different symptoms and I just had to sort similar problems on our 1992 T4!!
Re: Warning light help due to LCD screen issues needed
I hate these none serviceable clusters which was roughly Golf 3 onwards. Last week I had a 92 Golf 1 cabrio with a none working temp gauge. I had a used MotoMeter cluster and the cluster in the car was VDO, the used gauge was in within an hour and working. I only fitted a used gauge as new is impossible to buy.
