I'm having the following error in vcds on my Passat b6 Estate 2.0 TDI 170 BMR:

So the faulty sensor it's actually the number 4 shown in the picture above.

The temp on the sensor was 300° even with the engine off.
Replaced it and no errors, the temperature shown was 12° and start rising after starting the engine.

They have, as you know, three sensors, 1, 3 and 4... Sensor 1 is in the exhaust manifold turbo outlet, 3 is on top of the DPF and 4 is after the DPF.

So sensor 3 is the one that's in an angle with brown connection if I'm not mistaken.

The sensor after dpf is kinda stuck at 300 degrees with engine stopped or with it running. I've noticed it jumps to 1000 degrees at the start and after it stays steady at 300.
Also took the sensor out the error still there, and the temp still at the 300 with the sensor out. Also checked the sensor and it seems to be broken, has no resistance when heating with a heat gun. Took the one before dpf and it reads fine...
What bothers me is why I'm still getting the error with the sensor out...? It will clear with a new sensor?
Also I can't find any oem number on the sensor must've been changed by the previous owner.

I think I have same problem, 2.0 TDI BMP engine code. Could you tell me procedure of replacing a sensor, did you need to take off DPF, is it accessible from top of the engine or maybe from below?
