My mk4 Golf came with a mobile phone cradle screwed to the center and connected to the standard stereo; as i did not want it i simply cut it off and taped up the cables and poked them back behind the dash. Now the stereo thinks there is a feed from the phone, it displays 'phone' and will not let me select CD, Tape or FM. Can anyone help, is it as simple as removing the stereo and disconnecting it from the back?
