DSG gearbox 2nd gear a problem or not
Hi, I have a 2018 Tiguan MK2 and a query re the DSG gearbox.
I have noticed the gearbox seems to get a bit confused when going down the road with speedbumps going from 2nd to 3rd.
On a normal straight road the gear changes are smooth and appropriate. 1st to 2nd generally happens around 2000rpm.
When going over road bumps I find when over the bump and pressing the accelerator again the car the accelerator and engine revs loudly. ( Seems like the car coasts then re-engages. ) Once it reaches 2000rpm it then goes to third.
This seems to be a problem on a road with bumps but gearbox drives fine on normal straight roads.
I have previously had a q5 without this problem.
I don't know whether this is normal as I read the VW's like 2nd gear and something to live with or a problem.
I would be grateful for your thoughts.

Re: DSG gearbox 2nd gear a problem or not
Hi everyone sorry to open this thread again.
Since the last message got my car reviewed by the VW dealership. They were unable to replicate the problem and couldn't find any faults. As I had the DSG oil changed a few weeks ago they kindly did the diagnostic for free.
They did advise that the car might benefit from a readaptation with their computer. However did say that it might makes things better or sometimes worse.
I have tried the simple foot down and key in transmission but no help.
Does anyone have any experience of readapting their Tiguan gearbox I presume with VCDS or Odis? Did it help and is it an easy process? Thanks
