Hi all.
Am trying to pinpoint exactly what engine and gearbox my model has. Can't find the info sticker on car. I know usually in spare wheel bay, but not one on sharan...advice appreciated.
VWs usually have a very durable sticker on the left front door pillar with engine and gearbox code. Did you look for one there? Something like AUY for the engine, then another three letters prob beginning E/F/G/J for the gearbox.
The paper sticker with various codes that is often found in the boot (somewhere like a storage well if there is no spare tyre) is also at the start of the paper service history book if you have that.
Thanks for that. Rushed round to other door pillar, but just an airbag sticker! The back full of stuff, will empty when home and check the cubby holes 🙂
See if it's in any of the other places mentioned here under "Volkswagen type plate" (about half-way down): The main thing you should know about Volkswagen engine reparation | vehicle identification, modeland keys www.cariffy.com. If you use "find in page" search the notes on Sharan positions should be easy to find.
What is the VIN?
Very informative, thank you! Unfortunately no further forward though.
Thanks Crasher. WVWZZZ7MZ5V025647
It's surprising that it has been removed, obliterated, etc. Has it been damaged / resprayed?
Anyway, Crasher will be able to tell you the answer via the VIN - assuming they haven't been ground off :o!
Pass! Original paintwork good condition, just nowhere to be seen. It's a mystery!
I will email it, contains GDPR data and too big to PM
