Dsg7 fault - mechatronic passed bench test

Hi all, I have a golf5 with a 7 speed dsg. The PNRD lights are flashing and the car drives but won’t change above what feels like second or third. Reverse works but only on the second or third attempt. Now the obvious part to suspect would be the mechatronic. I’ve sent mine to ECU Testing and the unit has passed the bench test. Does anyone have any idea what else I should be looking at?

That company is a disaster and very close to where I am sitting; one of my trade customers sent them what in the end turned out to be a working Mech and they screwed it up! They only way we will deal with this is by fitting a new genuine VW Mech, if the customer can’t do this we turn the job away.
