Just got my A7 BiTDI - Map updates
Hey all,
I have just got my Audi A7 3.0 BiTDI (66 plate) yesterday. Really chuffed with it but I want to do a few things.
Firstly I want to add CarPlay to it. I believe it can be done but needs some specialist software. Is this the case?
Secondly I need a spare key for it. If anyone if local to Manchester and can provide details of a good auto locksmith I would greatly appreciate it!
Thirdly I want to update the map data. Its on the 2017 maps and could do with a refresh. The Audi connect has expired. Is it worth buying this for a month, updating and then cancelling?
Finally I want to get some kind of tracker installed. Any suggestions?
Any help or general tips on the car much appreciated!

If you have MIB2 MMI (bigger screen and touchpad) you can enable CarPlay. Once you do that, you won’t need to update your Audi maps. I had mine done by Alix from vagcarcoding.com

Thanks fir the quick reply! Yep I have the tech pack installed so have MIB2 MMI. I did want to update the maps on the car too though. I like the fact it comes up on the HUD. Does CarPlay do this?

CarPlay will give only you google maps . Used to be that the maps updated with the Audi Connect licence but that has changed into My Audi. Whether you can get the map through the licence on your car now I don’t know but I would be updating the licence anyway as it gives you the real time traffic info which I found very good when I had my 1st Gen A7.

No, CarPlay won’t show nav signs in hud. That the one thing I miss a little.

Okay guys im getting my carplay activated this week. I still want the latest mmi maps though. Is there somewhere i can download them from onto sd car and install? Or am i being really gullible thinking its that easy. My mmi version is MHi2

I think you maybe able to get them from Audi online. I would ask your dealer.
