What Android phone works well with Q7 4M Android Auto ---Huawei P30 Pro does not :-(

well the title says it really. I am finally ready to chuck an otherwise excellent Huawei P30 Pro: great camera, display, battery life, speed etc etc, but totally frustrating when connected to Android Auto in my Q7 4M ( and some Huawei messages that are impossible to silence)

It connects and works perfectly, but then disconnects at random, and then might reconnect 2 , 5 or 10 minutes later: no obvious reason: it sometimes appears to be related to a message or email being received on the phone, but not always. I have tried new cables, settings, but no difference.

It's at the point where it is dangerous as I usually use WAZE for navigation, but it just decides to dump you when approaching a junction you don't know. Not good in any way.

So what phone has provided fully reliable Android experience in Q7 4M?

We have older Samsung S8plus, Note 4 etc in the house so I might try these someday to see how these work. And probably a few iPhones for carplay, but that would require a mind-shift...
