Re: Engine Start Stop Button
I've experienced that. It might be related to having your foot on the brake pedal for an extended period of time.

Hmmm I don’t think I’ve done anything different to normal but I’ll check this also next time I start the car [emoji1360]
Re: Engine Start Stop Button
Faulty button??
I know you say dash etc boots up ok, but I think there are actually three sets of
contacts that do different jobs. So maybe one set is faulty ?/
Just a thought.

Thankfully it’s at dealers next week for a belated MOT so will also mention it to them - just hope it plays up whilst it’s with them
Re: Engine Start Stop Button
So just to add took 6 attempts today before the VC came up with message ‘move steering wheel’ or words to that affect....then hey presto it started.
So is it something to do with steering lock not disengaging?
Re: Engine Start Stop Button
Sound like it mate, might be steering lock control module... pretty simple swap to fix if thats the problem
As for starting car , you put your keyfob on the little "key" marker on the centre console rubber pad, thats the emergency coil if your key is dead. Then use the Start/Stop button to start the car.
