VW Touran 1.6 TDI CAYC Injectors
Good Evening,
I've just bought the above car and noticed the other day a lumpy idle when cold. Once warm it's fine. But it seems to use a lot fuel. I'll give it a good run out over the next week or so to see what it's really like.
Tonight I popped out and checked the injectors on VCDS. The car has done 71k.
I got the following readings when cold:
IDE00365-ENG99400 Injection amount deviation cylinder 1-FAC_CYL_BAL1 -0.0255 mg/stroke
IDE00366-ENG101187 Injection amount deviation cylinder 2-FAC_CYL_BAL2 0.1910 mg/stroke
IDE00367-ENG101684 Injection amount deviation cylinder 3-FAC_CYL_BAL3 0.1965 mg/stroke
IDE00368-ENG103465 Injection amount deviation cylinder 4-FAC_CYL_BAL4 -0.3964 mg/stroke
and the following readings when hot:
IDE00365-ENG99400 Injection amount deviation cylinder 1-FAC_CYL_BAL1 1.1973 mg/stroke
IDE00366-ENG101187 Injection amount deviation cylinder 2-FAC_CYL_BAL2 0.5850 mg/stroke
IDE00367-ENG101684 Injection amount deviation cylinder 3-FAC_CYL_BAL3 -4.0223 mg/stroke
IDE00368-ENG103465 Injection amount deviation cylinder 4-FAC_CYL_BAL4 2.1909 mg/stroke
Does this suggest there's a big problem?
DPF is showing 30g of soot. Car drives lovely. I have 6 months extended warrenty, so it would be lovely if I could sort anything that might arise before that runs out.
Thank you.

Thinking about it, it could have been in the middle of a regen. I had just been out for a drive when the second set of readings were taken.
The fan kept running after i turned the engine off.

I serviced the car on Saturday, fresh fuel filter. Got the car lovely and warm and got the following readings.

Not at all. Just hard to know what the readings should be, and whether they are relevant rather than something like compression or EGR.
I'm sure there were some injector readings similar to your first, hot "wide-ranging" set posted in another thread, and and that led to a diagnosis. But I couldn't find them so didn't reply. Interesting that the readings seem a lot more even now, so maybe not relevant.
Stripping away the possibly misleading info: lumpy idle when cold - OK when warmed up?
Re: VW Touran 1.6 TDI CAYC Injectors
Thank you for your reply.
Yeah i think it improves nicely once warm.
Re: VW Touran 1.6 TDI CAYC Injectors
If you do a search on "cold idle" using "Titles only" it has various suggestions including coolant circulation. Anything there looking likely? Can you use VCDS to look at circulation temp and actions?
Re: VW Touran 1.6 TDI CAYC Injectors
Maybe also ask a mod to shift this to a vehicle section, rather than diagnostics.

I'll have a search of that tomorrow. Thank you.

I've had a good look and I can't seem to locate anything.
