Air Suspension - Boot Button not working?
Hi All,
First post for me, picked up a Q7 yesterday and very impressed with it.
It has air-suspension and I've found the button in the boot doesn't work to lower the boot. Occasionally it flashes and other times it doesn't even light up. I understand the doors etc. have to be closed which they were. Had there been a pressure issue I think it should flash but most times it doesn't even light up?
It works fine when engine running, car lowers/rises no problem to get to desired setting.
Any ideas? Is this normal, am I using it correctly? Can't see anything in the manual to suggest otherwise.
Re: Air Suspension - Boot Button not working?
Off the top of my head, I can't recall which driving mode affects this, but I've certainly had the same experience; maybe when the car is in mode with the suspension on it's lowest?
I'll check when I return to my car in 40 mins.

Re: Air Suspension - Boot Button not working?
I was told ignition has to be on for it to work?!
Re: Air Suspension - Boot Button not working?
Interesting, I'll try it with the ignition on then! I did look at a different/newer Q7 and pretty sure it worked without ignition on - could have been mistaken.
If I get it working I'll post. Thanks for the replies!
Re: Air Suspension - Boot Button not working?
Ignition doesn't have to be on. There are 2 conditions: 1/ car doors have to be closed. 2/ The compressed air tank of air suspension must be full.
It means that after after a long stop or repeated use it could not work.

Thanks for the reply. I suspect I’ve got a problem. I haven’t yet got it to work and it has had a long run back from the garage. The lights have flashed a couple of times after trying but still not doing anything.
That aside, air suspension seems to work fine apart from this switch issue. I would expect error message if tank issue?

Have a listen out for air suspension whining - I hope you don’t have the problem I had... think it was unusual.
Weird noise - air suspension compressor?

If the light flashes 3 times it means that the air tank is empty. The most important is that the air suspension works properly: lifts up and down the car when you change the driving mode. If it is the minor issue only in boot lifting you will probably not get any error on your VC.
I would make some more trials and if it is still not working go to dealer to recognise where is the problem.

Two ideas:
Try to set the driving mode to "Offroad":
- and check if anything will happen if you press the button. Probably you set the car to the lowest position, and there is no way to lower the back.
- let the car stay in this position for some hours. If it lowers, then you could have some problem with an air leakage.

Also check that "Wheel Change / Air Suspension" isn't ticked on the MMI under Servicing and Checks.
