P2563 fault code Jetta 2.0 TDI w. DSG, no power loss/MIL/heating coil
Hi All,
I`m the proud and happy owner of a '09 Jetta 2.0 TDI 140hp (CBD) with a smooth DSG gearbox.
I used to drive a new Renault Captur with DCT, but oh man what is that gearbox crap!
I have been having a fault code on my Jetta that usually pops up when the engine is cold and I come to a standstill at a roundabout/junction (sometimes 2-3s after coming to standstill)
The dashboards gives a 'Engine fault, Garage' notification and the ODB reader shows a P2563 error code.
There is no MIL or heating coil light flashing.
I've not noticed any drop in power at any moment, no limp mode, and when you push down the accelerator it definitely goes!
After having read through a lot on this forum, I performed some tests with a cheap hand vacuum pump, which showed the following:
- Input line to turbo actuator (VNT) engine off: can reach up to 20-30mmHG easily and remains at that level, no drop in vacuum
- Output line from vacuum pump to solenoid with engine running: bounces between 20-30mmHG when idling
- Input line to vacuum solenoid (N75??) engine off: pumps up to +/-20mmHG, then immediately reduces to around 10mmHG and remains there, no further drop in vacuum (almost seems like it's intended?)
I`m a bit clueless as to what this might be, and the garage is quoting me for a whole new turbo.
Would anyone know what this might be or if there are some more tests I can carry out?
The car has just had a motor & gearbox oil change, and a new flywheel fitted.
Many thanks in advance.
Love this forum!
Cheers

If the actuator can hold a vacuum I would say it is either a faulty potentiometer in the actuator or a new actuator has been fitted but incorrectly set up, it is a very fussy job.
