Alarm goes off randomly

So as the title suggests the alarm on my A6 keeps going off randomly. Just happened again so thought I'd pick some brains to find an issue.

Car is locked up and all windows are up. Had no warning lights pop up. I've checked inside the car and can't see anything that could be setting it off from the inside. As far as I'm aware it's goes off every few days. Goes off for afew mins then stops and doesn't happen again until a day or two after.

Could be a battery issue but the cars running fine with now issues. Cars a MY18 and not due for a service until next April time and unsure when I'll have the time to take to the dealer to look so hoping is a easy solution.

Try turning off the motion sensor and see if that makes any difference, I had serious problems with an unknown moth until I spotted and removed the little sod...... :(

I had same issue with alarm.Mine happened shortly after trip to local tip with car (avant)filled with garden bush that we chopped done and I suspected a spider/insect causing problem.I sprayed some insect killer in car and problem went.

That's the next thing I'm going to try. Will spray some insect killer in tomorrow.

I had this issue with my car which is also a MY18. Alarm would randomly go off though day and night, called Audi assist and got the Audi tech to check it over, 10 minutes later said it was a known problem and would need a new bcm in the boot which he fitted the next day but alarm still kept going off. In the end they replaced the ecu and and issued me with new keys.

That's interesting. I'll have to look into that. Out of curiosity when locking the car with the fob does there's LED light on the fob flash afew times? Never really noticed it until yesterday but when locking the car the light on both fobs flash for about 2/3 seconds. Sometimes it's just a quick Mili second flash of the red light. Could be nothing or maybe batteries are low in the keys?? Or just could be me over thinking haha

Hi Guys
I have alarm issues
When start my car the hazard lights go off for 2-3 minutes and I can’t switch off
I believe alarm problem
Put on VCDS and say incorrect key programming
I tried everything from Ross-Tech website but nothing
Still the same
I only have one key and the car is start and drive only the alarm
Any suggestions

Usually it is screen wash water leaking from the rear wiper motor and making a contact on the tailgate lock, we fitted a brand new on to an 8V A3 the other weak and water poured out of the body the moment it was run...
