Clutch fun!
My new (2nd hand) Touran is proving to be a steep learning curve in car mechanics. Driving home from my 10yr olds birthday party, just before beer o'clock on Saturday, I attempted to change gear and the clutch peddle hit the floor and stayed there. I managed to yank the car into neutral and eventually towed it home with my old peugeot (what a car!!) The slave appeared to be leaking fluid when i had a quick look underneath.
After removing the plastics and battery tray etc, I found that the slave had no bolt on one side and had sheered off of its plastic holding on the other. It had also seemed to have failed in the mechanism itself. So.... today, I have attempted to fit a new one but I cannot get any pressure in the clutch. Is there anything I can do myself to pressurise the system manually?
And...will the cluch hose nipple (where the hose meets the slave) leak a bit if not under pressure?
Thanks in advance

Re: Clutch fun!
HELP!!
today I fitted the new slave, found an air leak at where the clutch hose meets the slave, refitted the slave with the little rubber nipple from the old slave, made it all nice and air tight with the pressure bleeder, and then have bled new fluid through a number of times. Thinking I'd cracked it, I put the pressure bleeder away and I started to pump the clutch, only to find it sticking to floor and to find fluid all over the place at the slave joint.
Is there any sort of kit or magic trick I can use??
