Can an A7 2wd have Tiptronic?
Hi all, new to the forum, about to buy my first Audi however I'm a bit confused about the gearbox.
It's a 2011 A7 3.0 TDI SE 2wd 201bhp. It's advertised with Tiptronic, however wherever I'm reading that particular setup only comes with the Multitronic CVT gearbox. So can a A7 2wd have a Tiptronic or am I being hoodwinked?
The seller has produced the options list which shows code 0G7, which does point to Tiptronic. Whilst Multitronic code is GYZ, which it doesn't have.
Please can you clear up this confusion. Has anyone got a similar setup or seen one. Always thought Quattro models came with the Tiptronic or S-Tronic.
Thanks.
Re: Can an A7 2wd have Tiptronic?
Do you have 7 gears or 8 gears?
Re: Can an A7 2wd have Tiptronic?
I can't tell as the car is with the seller. However what does the 0G7 code tell? Isn't the 7 for 7 speed?
Which has 7 ratios and which has 8?
Thanks
Re: Can an A7 2wd have Tiptronic?
I think this is 7 speed dual clutch gearbox.
Re: Can an A7 2wd have Tiptronic?
Yes, the A7 came as a 3.0l TDI, 204PS front wheel drive, "multitronic" 8-speed gearbox back in 2011. I have a copy of an old brochure.

It is just a name, such as quattro on an A3 and 4 Motion on a Golf, same thing.
