Thinking of buying VW Passat 130 high line
As the title says I have been offered a 53 plate Passat 130 highlife for £2500. It has done 64000 miles fish and one lady owner. Cambelt and water pump changed recently. Is it worth buying as need reassurance it won't turn out to be a Monet pit and will provide reliable and economic mode of transport. Ant owners views re potential problems will be gratefully received.
Re: Thinking of buying VW Passat 130 high line
Purchase one with 160k and it still wouldn't be a money pit .
Usual attentions - plenum drains , pollen filter housing seal , for aquarium and electrical shananigans prevention .
This has to be done or examined straight away as inevitable .
And the correct oil ( 507.00 ) is best as the PD have narrow camshaft lobes as space is taken up by a third unit injector lobes .
Purchase the next newer model and you'll throw away your life savings .

Much appreciated for the sound advice. How much will it cost for the prevention work?
