Golf mk6 hatch back rear fog light and reverse light stopped working

Can anyone give us some advise my wife has a mk6 golf hatchback and the light fault symbol came up on the dash and then noticed the reverse lights and rear fog lights don’t work ,I cleaned the terminal as they had corroded on the cluster and checked the bulb which were ok but still don’t work any ideas thanks

Check the wires in the rubber between the body and tailgate
