Changing headlight bulbs on Polo 1.4TDI Xreg 2000

hi Folks,

Has anyone come across an easier method of changing bulbs than, on the nearside removing the battery, and the offside removing the air filter?

i find it annoying and embarrassing that I struggle in changing a bloody bulb!!

Also Haynes have decided not to publish a manual for my car-a petrol manual 2000-2002 exists but not the diesel version :zx11:

it's a pain isn't it, expect a few cuts to your hands but
I have always managed to change mine by just removing
the indicator light units never anything else

I have a 2001 Polo 1.4tdi too by the way

Thanks for that. Took it down to VW garage and got charged £10 but saw how the lads down there do it. Arm down in front of radiator and then go horizontal in front of the alternator belt. Then pass the bulb down from above. The cover comes in and out that way to.
