VW Passat 2012 - Won't start - Dash lights on but only silence

Hi - Hope someone can shed some light on this one...

Just bought 2012 VW Passat Sport - all great for the first 3 days then day 4 - I put key in ignition and nothing...All the dash lights come on (except the orange coil/ heating light) car doesn't even try and start.

I took off the positive battery lead for 10 mins and put back on - The car started then and drove - Had traction control warning and steering warning lights but these went off as I drove. Came back and went out 2 hours later and car would not start again as before.

Any help appreciated - Private sale purchase so no dealer back up.....

Sounds like the battery struggling to hold charge, especially apparent in this colder weather. I've had similar issue on a touran a few years back. You might find the battery in your car is still the original from 2012 and probably due replacement, take it some place to get tested.

Thanks for the response - Car started today (bit warmer here today) and then didn't ???

Will get it plugged in and update the resolve if I find out.
