Do Touran's only have FM?
Hi all,
This is a question on behalf of a family member who I cannot do a scan for at the moment due to distance.
Long story short, they're over from Belguim with a 2016 Touran. FM works fine and has picked up the UK stations however there is no way to change bands to AM and if it has it, DAB.
I would have thought this day and age, radio as a whole is standard and even DAB - but if it was not, the at the very least AM/FM would both exist.
Looking at the picture I just got of the screen, it's the standard screen with Radio, Media, Phone, Voice on the left and Nav, Traffic, Car and menu on the right
The bottom of the screen where the first touch button should be FM or Band does not exist and instead is a station list button. The second button is a scan/tune button.
Done the usual pressing radio twice/three times, nothing happens. Same with press/hold. It's almost as if the kit only comes with FM radio....
I am completely unfamiliar with the Touran so I thought I would ask here - Looking at a german video of the infotainment system, it is quite clearly shown the first button is what this one is missing "Band FM" and when she clicks it, FM and AM pops up

Thanks all
Re: Do Touran's only have FM?
The German version should use Dab plus but only on higher spec radios even though on the later models they look the same.
The basic S model in the uk doesn't have dab unless the option was paid for.

Re: Do Touran's only have FM?
Thanks for the reply - I guess in this case, it's not even DAB he's after but AM radio which is something I would think is standard?
The car itself is from Belgium as opposed to Germany - the latter was a video I found on YT which showed the AM/FM when the band is touched (first button as per the video you posted)
