New user - Old car- Radio (310) current upgrade options
Hi all,
I've trawled the forums but need a more up to date idea!
I've just got a 09 Highline 2.0TD Estate. It has the RCD 310 radio, with the old useless Bluetooth.
What are the options for getting at the very least "modern" bluetooth, or preferably DAB and /or sat nav?
I see upgrades to other models, and I presume these days there are cheaper 3rd party than the Kenwood/Pioneer options my local shop recommended (£1000 fitted!!)
I'm quite handy, so could do work myself if I know what I needed and where to get it!
Thanks in advance,
Andy
Re: New user - Old car- Radio (310) current upgrade options
Been covered countless times in here.
An installed brand name compatible head unit will cost a grand overall
Occasionally special offers come up, my JVC came out at £700 despite the
shop trying to sell me parts seperately that were supplied in the JVC box.
That was then, this is now and you should first decide whether you want to
stay OEM or go aftermarket. Latest aftermarket headunits now are Android.
Get yourself a copy of my help .doc I started putting together when faced with
having to dump the useless OEM RCD500 (non-MP3 ;-) And as useful info got
posted in the forums I've updated it. PM me an email address for return attach.
