Anyone received a letter from their dealership this week?
I've also posted this on the A5 forum
I have received a letter from the dealership I purchased my A5 sport back 2.0tdi from in 2015. The header says 'we have some good news to tell you' and it asks me to call their sales manager and give a reference number.
i called them and they told me I had been selected by Audi U.K. As a past customer to receive an exclusive offer to change my car before the end of the agreement. He went on to say that Audi uk have asked dealers to send letters to a limited number of clients offering additional discounts on top of discounts already in place.
I usually don't fall for this type of marketing, however I'm going to see what they have to say. If it's not what they are saying I'll walk away.
the sceptic in me thinks it's a way of buying back some of the cars with the emissions issue as I have refused to take mine in to be altered.
just wondered how many other have received the same letter?
Re: Anyone received a letter from their dealership this week?
Most manufacturers and dealers do this at some point, but I guarantee they won't be able to touch any deal you find online (orange wheels, Drive the Deal etc). Depends whether you want a new car or not. You can usually change your car at any point (unless it is a lease) and use any equity in the car against your new one.
It's a way of getting you in the door to talk about upgrading and buying a new car sooner, which is obviously their objective. It's just marketing at the end of the day.
I doubt it has anything to do with the emissions (they're not just going to scrap a load of cars they buy back) but could be a way to secure brand loyalty following the scandal.

Re: Anyone received a letter from their dealership this week?
I've had a letter for a cost price event in Friday only. I have to take the letter and book an appointment. I bought my a6 in 2015 and have new tyres and the 2 year service in the horizon so considering my options. The irritating thing about it is that the dealer when I called them would not give anything away and wouldt give me a clue as to what deals theyll be doing. I have I'm 2hrs drive from the dealer so I don't want to waste my time going if they can't match or beat the ow or dtd prices!!

Cost price sounds like a load of nonsense. They will make a profit, that's their job.

This is correct. I offered my local audi garage the chance to get my business before I ordered the A6. They couldn't touch the price I'd been quoted offof AutoeBid and was saying how they can't understand how I'd been quoted that as it was well below the margins they have to be flexible with and they simply can't do the deal. So I can't see a dealership offering better than Internet prices, because Internet prices are usually archive through fleet sales (i.e. volume sales).
Not to mention the discount I got on my order was about 24%, which has now dropped to 18% as audi changed the prices at the beginning of January.
