What can be retro fitted?
Probably a question for Andy but others will be able to help.
I really really like the Q7 and will be pricing one up after xmas at the dealers. To keep initial costs down I'm considering speccing less toys and doing them myself over time. I love gadgets and toys so wondering what can be done?
Not sure if it will be the new or old Q7 but have a 'sports car' so thinking of ditching the A7 for the big family car. The sports car has no toys at all so will be a completely different experience.

Re: What can be retro fitted?
Pretty much anything can be retrofitted bar something extremely mechanical like all wheel steering or panoramic sunroof.
Head up display requires a whole new dashboard so can be done but huge work. Factory fitted tow bar would probably be not worth the retrofit effort either. Other than those though I can't really think of anything else that technically can't be done. It's just assuming you can:
1. Buy the parts somewhere that isn't from a dealer (as prices are ridiculous)
2. Have the information and tools needed to do it.
3. Have the time to do it.

Thanks Andy. I couldn't be without HUD so will get that from new. Will have to see what spec I fancy now!

Indeed. Let us know what spec you decide on before you order [emoji2]

I'll have to convince the boss first!

Convincing didn't happen [emoji22] have got her round to the idea of the old Q7 though and will add what I can to that.
Going for a "look" on Friday and will see if they can do an extended test drive of 2-3 days.

Re: What can be retro fitted?
I think your onto some thing here
its nice to buy the extras that can be removed when selling the car
trouble is there isn't many
i spent close to £25000 worth of extras the retail value of the car was £78000
trouble is no matter what that
£25000 is gone the minute your out the door and that's with out the loss of the car price value going down
shame they don't do a car with more spec than the se and S-Line as at least I'd get a little back
but as it is at the moment they look in there book ahhh Q7 S-Line 4m is worth x amount
the extras are worth nothing zero and that's wrong in a way
in sum ways your better off getting an SQ7 as that's got more kit as std think at least 10k worth of extras
oh how I'd love to just unbolt and put my extras in my next car lol be good hey
so def with adding extras your self

Re: What can be retro fitted?
Did you end up going for a 4L then?
Retrofitting could move between cars... At least removing the parts is easy you put in...
Re: What can be retro fitted?
Afraid not. She didn't like it. Had a look at the Touareg instead and she loved that so doing some research into that. It's due a facelift next month so happily that will drop prices of the current shape which she likes.
