Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
i would say turbo sticking and you will confirm this with a fault code relating to overboost. The fact it ran worse with the airmass disconnected and it resets when the ignition is cycled is the reason i would say the turbo.Best way to test go up a steep hill in 3rd gear full chat and it will cut the power very quickly.
Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
And now you have unplugged the AMM with the engine running you will have an AMM fault code.
Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
Tried up hill as you suggested and did lose power very quick, seems like sticking turbo, can i do anything to release it or is it a new turbo. Thanks dixie
Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
On a PD TDI it is often possible to free off the turbo vanes by putting the ECU into Basic settings 04, sub group 011 and gently tapping the operating rod as the screen turns to "ON". Otherwise the turbo has to come off for a strip and clean.
Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
Left it in to get it checked out,Problem was oil getting past the turbo and oiling up a sensor,if it does it again its a new turbo or get rid of it.Dixie
Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
Left in to garage 3 times ,couldent find fault said it may be wiring from sensor to ecu .leaving it in to get wiring checked on monday morning, garage said it was not the turbo, fault that keps coming up is manifold pressure sensor 10-17.so i am still no further forward than at start. Any help appreciated getting to end of patience, tried to trade it in but price dropped by £500 when they drove it and said the turbo was cutting out.
Re: vw sharan 1.9tdi fault
MAP sensor failure is very common and the part is only about £35 and takes minutes to fit.
