EGR valve insufficient flow
Hi all
I took my car to audi to get a diagnostic check done came back as egr valve insufficient flow.
Bought a new siemens EGR valve and I am Still getting the same fault code
The pipe feeding the egr valve has slight oily/sooty coating on the inside which can be wiped off with your finger. No blockages in the pipe.
What else could cause this fault?

Re: EGR valve insufficient flow
Whats the history behind taking I to main dealers for a code read?
Re: EGR valve insufficient flow
if it's the siemens electric valve rather than the vacuum operated i think you need to use 'adaptations' in VCDS to set it up. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the replies
I replaced electric valve with electric valve.

How do you test the egr cooler is working as there is a actuator mounted on the end of it?
Re: EGR valve insufficient flow
Presume you mean the EGR valve having an actuator on the end of it? - you need VCDS and use 'measuring blocks' to check it's functioning. Maybe you need to take it to a garage to get it checked / set up.

On the end of the egr cooler there is a actuator to direct the exhaust gasses through the cooler when required.
How do you test if it's working

Re: EGR valve insufficient flow
A vac pump, see if it holds closed and follow the hose back check for splits.

I'll check it and report back.
