SMOKING cabin heater
Hi everyone. I have a 2003 130bhp Alhambra which sporadically makes James Bond escaping in a cloud of smoke amounts of smoke. So much so that the first time it happened I thought the car was on fire! Apparently there's something wrong with the rear cabin heater which burns diesel to heat the air supplied to the rear passenger compartment. Unfortunately this happened after the warranty ended but our local dealer said they thought there are FOUR different types and the one on my car can not simply be disconnected. The figure of £600 !!! was mentioned for repair. Any suggestions?:zx11:
Found answer to above in VW section. Try searching for "auxiliary heater". Cheers!

Re: SMOKING cabin heater
Been there. Done this.
Had FIVE replaced under warranty on a 2000 115BHP. Whole units required.
One replaced on a 2002 115BHP.
However on a 2004 130 only a "plug" component needed to be replaced. Much cheaper. Lets hope this is you!
