2013 A6 Avant - tech pack data with no sim slot?

New member here, after a bit of advice as just about to take ownership of a 2013 A6 Avant BiTDI in a few days, which has the tech pack however I gather from some research there was changes to the tech pack for sim slots and audi connect around this time. I don't think the car has an in dash slot for sim card but has MMI Nav plus, and no mention on the spec sheet for bluetooth phone prep high with connect.

What options are there for earlier 2013 cars for data over bluetooth for navigation, ie traffic, connect, etc or did this need the later bluetooth phone prep high option? What was the standard bluetooth included before phone prep high if not in the etch pack, did it have charge cradle etc?

If you look at the unit is there 2 open SD card slots or a little flap that covers it?
If it's 2 open sd card slots you don't have connect or online traffic. I think you need to have connect(sim in dash) to use data over phone(rsap)
I know around 2012/13 you could order the connect and 3G+ separately whereas now it's all part of the tech pack.

Yeah just the two sd card slots under the flap so presuming no connect, which is fine as the car had everything else I wanted. I'm just curious how you access data over sim before 2013 or would have still been in dash sim slot or elsewhere.

Also if the sd slots are empty I presume its HDD based nav (its Tech Pack Advanced but not specified), and would I update maps from SD card in future?

Only the 2015+ FL tech pack with 4G has the ability to self-update maps afaik.
It would need to go through the dealer if doing it legitimately.

I think kufatec does an aftermarket solution for getting Audi connect and online traffic.

I think, they have solutions for Traffic sign recognition, but not for Traffic online. I did a search now, because I'm also interested in the online traffic (I'm not able to renew my licence with my dealer :( ), but currently I'm not able to find anything related to online traffic on their site.

In 2013 Audi amended the Tech Pack content and replaced Audi Connect with (I think) Adaptive Cruise Control, Audi Connect then became a separate option. For the 2014 Model Year they went back to providing Audi Connect as part of the tech Pack. caught a few people out at the time who ordered their car with Tech Pack before the 2013 spec was released and expected Audi Connect only to find it missing when the car arrived

If it is a model year 2013 car (so built before / June 2013) then the tech pack did not include phone prep high / data, instead it includes Parking Plus (or whatever it is called - the car can attempt to park itself). The story seems to be that they included phone prep high until end of MY12, then swapped it out for the parking option for MY13 and then swapped it back.

Yup its a MY2013 I believe so first registered May 2013 and has ACC / Park Assist / Pre Sense plus / Lane Assist but no mention of bluetooth at all so I'm trying to work out what bluetooth it has got as standard on it.

It will have standard audio bluetooth for phone calls and audio streaming. Without Audi Connect you will not have a data connection
